Gazetted as a National park in 1952 it's the oldest conservation area in Uganda. MFNP is sitted on a whooping 3,840sq km making it Uganda’s largest game reserve as managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority(UWA).

Bisected by the Victoria Nile creating an 80km stretch of rapids felt as it plunges over the rift valley The Murchison Falls is quite a site. Its only 5-6 hours drive from Kampala.


The park offers opportunities for activities such as birdwatching, fishing, and hiking. It is a haven for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts, providing a chance to witness Africa's incredible ecosystems up close.

Notable visitors: Adventurous and colourful fun seeking creatures and some boring politicians and royals too.
