The White Nile is one of the longest rivers in the world and has its source in Uganda. A fact long debated among the various explorers who wanted to map Africa in the 19th century. In the end it was John Hanning Speke who established that Lake Victoria is the source from which the Nile originates and travels the 6695 km long road to Egypt to end up in the Mediterranean Sea.
